Community Driven, Community Focused

Heide Arneson is a former U.S. Air Force weather officer who moved to Bozeman twenty years ago with her husband and two sons. Heide soon began volunteering in the schools and exploring Hyalite. In recent years she and her Anatolian Shepherd therapy dogs have been frequent volunteers at local schools and community events. For eleven years Heide served as the Director of Junior Achievement, training volunteers from the business community to teach students from kindergarten through high school about money, jobs, and entrepreneurship.

For the past four years, Heide has returned to her weather roots, teaching aviation meteorology at Gallatin College. She is also pursuing a graduate degree in higher education, while training her next therapy dog. In her spare time she hikes, hunts edible mushrooms, and works in her garden.

Ten years ago Heide was first elected to the Bozeman School Board. As a trustee, she is proud of improving efficiency in the district, the rehabilitation of the Willson Building, and the process for developing a second high school. Heide will bring her school board experience and training to the City Commission as another avenue for serving the citizens of Bozeman.
